Using a pop up would be worth a try. We planted green into rye this year. The first field my brother was trying to calirate the injector pump, so in doing so he ran out of fertilizer at far end of the field, so he came back with no fertilizer applied. You could tell the difference when the corn emerged, where there was no fertilizer the corn was shorter. I haven't checked for a while so don't if there is any difference now or not. This was 10-34-00 in furrow.
