Central Kansas | First time for me, State Fair is coming up in a month. For giggles and grins, I want to enter 5 ears of Corn for judging. My latest planting has the "less tip back" of my plantings and it will be mature when I take it off the stalk........SO......what do I look for in selecting the ears?.....less tip back, longest ear, etc.
If I have tip back, should I discreetly try to get rid of it or leave it alone? Not looking to have anything that will win best of show "$100" but just want to enter for the fun of it.(and maybe win a few bucks)
Any trade secrets of what look for?
