Subject: RE: Tip back.....

North Central Illinois
People are pinning way too many hopes on the whole tip back issue. I have had corn tipped back before that was outstanding. There are millions of acres out there with no tip back. You just aren't seeing them on NAT. I have been in all of our fields and we have no tip back. The national crop has no doubt lost some bushels to stress here and there be it tip back or some other problem. What we have to keep in mind is that back in early June we may very well of had the potential of a 180 national yield. Now we might be down to 170 or 171. So, most likely not a record crop but not a 160 or 165 like many are hoping for. Our kernel and ear counts are as good as 2014 but I suspect we don't fill as good. So, while it will likely be a whale of a crop it won't be our best.
