Thanks for info, would you classify the problems with this field as localized or more widespread? I have seen a lot of tip back here in Central Iowa. 10 days ago, judging solely by appearance, I would have forecast a near record crop--now it looks like we probably will be in the 170-180 range which is slightly below 10 year APH. Hearing the same thing from Omaha to Iowa City.
A friend in south central NE and one in southeast NE are seeing the same thing. It's not hybrid or company specific. This same hybrid in an adjacent 18 acre field looks about 100% better. Only difference is they were planted a few hours apart... I'm not smart enough to figure it out. Agronomist is seeing it in many local fields, also.
I know that it is easy to get backyarditits, so I still believe there will be a huge crop. I just think some guys that don't walk fields may be disappointed. |
