May we be nosey and ask what your Chem program was?

I sprayed Tripleflex on with the planter. In this particular field I decided that it looked so clean that a second chemical application was not necessary. I was wrong. Beside looking clean, my neighbors have a vineyard not far from this field. I did not want to take the chance on hurting the grapes. The neighbors are friends of mine but it does create some hardships when making chemical decisions. They really put a lot of work into the vineyard.

On another field that had Tripleflex on with the planter I had some ragweed showing early on so I sprayed that field with Status. The Status worked well there except on the border to my soybean field. This is not really a fence line but the crops have alternated at this point for the last several years. This forces me to stay back a row or two to prevent killing the other crop. Next time I will make another pass to move the break point over.

And yes, I'm sure I do have enough Giant Ragweed seed in the ground to keep them going. I just didn't want to add any more. Where they were really thick it is easy to see that they have affected the corn in that area. The ears are very small or nonexistent. It isn't really a very large area so the main reason for cutting them down was mostly cosmetic.
