north central ky | For us I have always thought it was scavaging nitrogen as the rye was breaking down. Usually I would see the corn get yellow before we got back in with the side dress applicaton. I have tried adding extra nitrogen preplant and it helped some but still seemed to see yield drag. I will keep trying and maybe get it figured out one of these days. For now the biggest majority will go in front of beans where we aren't having any problems and hopefully building organic matter. | |
