Subject: RE: Barley or Oats instead of Cereal Rye cover crop??

brenmer - 8/6/2016 20:05 I didn't have a good first year planting cereal cover crop. Got some army worms in the corn and could definitely see corn and soybean growth slowed due to cereal rye alleopathy. Would Barley or Oats be less antagonistic to the corn plant. I am also worried about Cereal rye getting into the tile. Would the Barley or Oats root sholower?

Oats is much worse for allelopathy to corn than cereal rye.
