Subject: RE: August rain on soybeans

King City, Mo
Well nobody has mentioned seed size.....

More water and cooler weather should allow for a longer pod fill and should be bigger seed.

Soybean yield counts are a waste of time as beans compensate and vary too much but....

Think a seed bag.

2200 seeds per lb is 110k in a 50# bag
2800 seeds per lb is 140k in a 50# bag
3300 seeds per lb is 165k in a 50# bag

So if we can increase the seed size of the beans in the pods we have more bushels or we have to have more blooms that turn into more pods of smaller beans.
