We have dry years here. We picked very little corn in 2012 and 2013. Dry land beans normally yield around 20 on an average year. Probably 1/3rd of the time they are never harvested. Seldom do we have 40 bushel beans.
Go about 50 miles west of me and dry land soybeans are uninsurable for crop insurance.
