Subject: Your Information is incorrect

The germplasm lawsuit was settled in 2002. Since these are publically traded companies information like this is made public, google and yahoo are great for information gathering.

Monsanto admitted they pirated Pioneer inbreds, this is also very public as you can easily check the US PAtent Office web site. There is no rumor about the germplasm infringement, it is fact.

Both companies had lawsuits vs each other, Pioneer vs Mon for germplasm piracy, and Mon vs Pioneer for RR soy fees. Mon sued Pioneer claiming that since they had been purchased by DuPonmt, their initial fee structure for RR soy was not valid. When settled, Pioneer pays Monsnato a royalty/tech fee since for RR soy and Mon was allowed to keep and use the Pioneer genetics in corn. Sounds like a really bad deal for Pioneer on the surface but is was also the time that Pioneer gained access to RR corn. My thought had to be that they got a pretty good deal on RR corn to give up what they did.

As for 33P67 vs 61-69/63-42 etc. We could not make P67 works for us early 2k due to poor emergence on our heavy clay soils and less than ideal stanability. We have the very same issues with the Dekalb hybrids mentioned.

Keep in mind that it is exceptionally easy to trace genetics, esp female lines at mitochondrial DNA is only passed from female to female, so the female used to make 61-69 can be traced back to the first record of mapped genetics.
