So if you make 300 bushels of corn. 300x56=16800 lbs corn, and your corn is 9.5% protein. So 1680x0.095=1596 lbs of protein. You need 1lb N to make 6.25 lbs of corn protein, so 1596รท6.25=255 lbs N. Then you have to have some N to make the corn stalk that will be left in the field. As they say there's no such thing as a free lunch.
