Ear size.

The article did say: " On a per-plant basis, ear size of 0.33 lbs has not changed from the 1930's to 2016. What has caused yields to quadruple in this time period is plant population. It's also increased four-fold."

I just thought that 0.33 lb ear seemed a bit low.  I was thinking average ear size is slightly higher than that.
