Subject: Let's revisit mowing soybeans for weed control

southwest illinois
After Chad Bells solution of 1 week ago for controlling rogue waterhemp I was thinking

1. It was July 24 (still plenty of growing season)
2. the soybean cover crop was removed
3. Deep seeded weeds such as cocklebur etc. can now emerge along with other shallow emerging weeds
4. He stated he would spot spray the mowed down area
5. I suspect it will take more effort to continue to keep area clean thru rest of growing season, possibly even tillage
