NE Iowa | Don't have any turbines on our ground but have been approached just like others have mentioned. Do not want a thing to do with it. They make the extra income sound so great but you will be out a decent chunk of it right off the top depending on your tax bracket. No one can give a real great answer on how the income will be taxed, then there's property taxes on top of it. What happens to your land value? They claim they will fix all the tile, well when their wire is 4ft deep and your tile is 4ft deep then what happens? I can't imagine signing away the control of your farm for the rest of your life and the next generation no matter what the payout is.. Too many unknowns. | |
