Dug up roots on affected plants and no rootworm issues at all. Also no bugs clipping silks. I don't think it was a pollination only issue as husks on these ears were stunted worse than the ears themselves (silks and unpollinated kernels half exposed). I'm stumped as heat was not that bad either, will report final yield I guess.
