Weigh those ears on a gram scale. They should not get any lighter if you have moisture. If you can retain the ears all the way to harvest I would say that is 260 bu corn all day long. Last year when I was weighing ears they actually increased weight after denting a little. I found that 85% of a cob of corn was grain. The rest was the cob. Late season plant health is extremely important to get those heavy ears.
