SC Wisconsin | All great ideas, sorry for the late reply just trying to get hay and straw up between rains. Im not sure what county average is here, but we do have some great soils in our county as well as some really crumby stuff in the corners.in my immediate area we have very good soil, bit this field is kind of on a hill and like I said was pasture for a long time and then made hay for a while, so I'm sure it is pretty well mined. We figured on the hay being worth 35 a bale, then I just deducted custom rates for making it. He ended up with 15 a bale and it came out to 350 ish for first cutting, still waiting on a second. I was thinking of starting around 200 then going from there. It will be quite a bit more than he gets from me just buying the grass off it. | |
