| I think that's why I raise hay, to get a work out. It's definitely not for the money. I figure that if I quit riding the rack and loading the hiker for my 40 acres of managed hay (4 cuttings per year) i'll wither away to nothing (in the 10 years I've raised hay, I don't think I've ever rode on a tractor working any part of it...I hire out the baling). Atleast it's a gym that pays you to work out. When I get bored, i'll move 300-400 bales around, 3-4 times a week, in the barn (I never give wet hay time to lay around). For added strength training, I use roll and flip large round bales around (no market for them anymore where I send hay too, so no more power lifting). I'll put bucking bales up against Bowflex anyday...and win :-) | |
