Pvafarm - 7/25/2016 00:46 So what is done in that situation by you John? I've mown off areas in our squash crops before to stop seed set. Never had to in a commodity crop, but we haven't had waterhemp like that either.
turned into quite a polarizing post, didn't it pva?   I find my self in a somewhat uncomfortable position, and that is one of siding with bad farmer, and coup.

I also defer to chads judgement, he pays his own bills, so he is the captain of his ship, but he posted it in a public forum.     so I reserve the right to comment on how things would work in my area, maybe what chad did is considered being proactive in his neighbor hood, and I respect that.

I guess the procedure here would be to try something else before the situation got to the point where destruction of the area was the only option.   we've dealt with identical situations such as this, and we haven't had to resort to this method.

the thing I find truly interesting about this thread is the range of responses, this winter when the discussion turns to renting land and such, like it always does, it will interesting to see if the respondents to this thread that decided to deride, belittle, and resort to name calling, are among some of the first ones that complain about not being able to find land to rent.
