Faunsdale, AL | Listen to KTA, he knows what he's talking about. I've never been around any IH tractors......didn't realize it had no oil cooler. Your tractor's transmission or hydraulic oil reservoir is going to be the main site of heat loss.....might get pretty hot.
A little pto roller pump is pretty cheap and if taken off when not in use and flushed out with oil or diesel, even a cheap one should last a long time. You will need the bypass valve if you get a roller pump. A new one will build up enough pressure to blow things apart if there is no pressure control on the system. When they get old and worn, its hard to get anywhere near the rated capacity out of one so your agitation may suffer. Might be pretty limited anyway, they aren't very high gpm.
What are you wanting to spray? If you need lots of agitation to keep something in suspension you probably don't want a little roller pump. Those agitation jets will help make the most of what agitation/recirculation flow you can get. A centrifugal pump has a lot more flow capacity at normal pressures. Unless you are spraying something like 2,4-d or Roundup that is easy to mix and stays mixed, a roller pump on a 540 rpm pto may not have the gpm you need.
Search online for hypro pumps. They have operator's manuals for the pump you have that describes how to set the hydraulic flow etc. Is one of the pictures a tag on the pump? Might need that number for getting the recommended procedure.
