Southeast WI
Ya know. We grow 30 acres of squash and pumpkins. Very little weed control comes from chemicals since there isn't much that works well. We cultivate, use our 3 row ecoweeder and also hand hoe around plants. After a few more years of v good weed control I think the g rags, etc will be under control. This is a high dollar crop so we can afford to do it with hand labor. We all take turns hoeing and riding the weeder. It's a lot of work and in our situation the ground is relatively easy to walk across.

If I had the same situation as Chad does here I'd do the same thing for a stupid acre of beans - walk and pull in that jungle? You want to talk like that come and spend some time here with us next June. He's doing the right thing getting rid of the nasty weeds like that.
