Northeast Nebraska | In Northeast Nebraska we've had customers try exactly what you did with complete failure. There just isn't enough sunlight to sustain it through the season. The best success is with a Hagie CCI machine done right around August 25th and watered in the next day. The crop will be maturing and allow more sunlight to the ground by then. The machine will go through 12ft tall corn and has drop nozzles to blow the seed in under the canopy. It also has a full under body skid to minimize leaf tearing. It's worked great for us and others 2 years in a row now. Planes just don't get it below the canopy to the ground.
