Seems here it's raised for every reason except to make a profit that is a bonus.
For me:
1. Best time to put in tile.
2. Best time to haul manure
3. Need straw
4. Increases corn yield (think the manure has something to do with it)
5. Did I mention manure
Starting to keep it on our tougher farms less to lose than corn.
Bin run seed does help. 90 bushel average just planted, topdressed no herbicide and combined. Still think it was about breakeven.
Same here---if you want too sell the straw the guys supplying mushroom farms will buy it laying in field---Best thing about wheat is manure and grow corn the next year and it makes a poor corn farmer look good--consistently 20+ bu. better corn after wheat |
