I put 2" of rigid foam under it, and you should put the same vertically around the foundation at least 2' deep. The contractor told me about someone who didn't do the perimeter, and he was melting snow 2' around his building the 1st winter. My project was an old building where the floor was poured at the same time as the foundation. We didn't have a smooth surface, so we insulated with foil/bubble wrap. It seems to have worked, although maybe not as good as styrofoam. My highest heating bill last year was $100. That's for a 48X32X16 building | |
