Subject: 92 day corn for silage.... About ready.

nw NC
Pictures this morning of Syngenta N27P planted April 23, emerged April 30. Plant count pop. 25,000. Corn is rated 92 day maturity. As of today, 83 days since emergence. Kernels are dented and, at mid-ear, kernels are 1/3 to 1/2 milk line. Just about ready to harvest for silage. Plan to chop it Monday and Tuesday. This corn is not a tall growing variety and will not yield as much as my usual 115-120 day corns , but it is going to do what I needed it for, to get some early corn silage. Have had adequate rainfall here until a week ago. Heat of last few days has crops and pastures/grasslands showing stress from insufficient moisture.
