I don't care how fast new machinery depreciates as long as it is something I need, something I will keep for a long time, or something that will make money faster than it depreciates, or some combination of the above.
Prepaid expenses are more useful at some times than at others. They aren't something that can be just universally endorsed or discredited.
It is sometimes possible to lower your tax bracket without lowering your income. This is where good tax planning comes in to play.
