Subject: RE: Planting cereal rye in 15" spacing?

NE Nebraska
We drill on 15" spacing for both cover crop and seed. Yielded very well and I like the fact that I can plant between the rows and not have to plant into a row of rye with corn or soybeans. Planter row units will travel between 15" rows and not ride up on growing rye causing shallow planting. Rye seems to grow very easily for cover crops and will produce a lot of biomass. Planting a cash crop into that biomass can be more challenging than getting the rye established. I have not had any problems killing rye as long as there is good weather during and after spraying.
