Subject: cover crop with a 1590 JD

I'm looking to plant a small seed cover crop like tillage radish, clover, mix with my JD 1590 no till after wheat. My question is do I need the slow down sprockets for the drill. The suggested rate is only 10lb per ac. Local JD dealer wants $800.00 plus for the 4 sprockets and I'm not sure I need them. Thanks for any advice.
