Southeast Iowa
Reading the post below got me to thinking about all the weather issues in pockets around the country.

Are these weather issues something new or is it just the way it has always been around the country?

Years ago little corn was grown in the Dakotas because of arid weather. Same holds true for other parts of the country.

So my question to all is, was there many acres of corn or beans grown in your regions 50+ years ago?

Here in southeast Iowa some hay and pasture ground was converted to corn and beans but corn and beans have been widely grown here since our forefathers settled this ground.

Are we pushing the envelope on where we can grow some crops?

Just an unscientific poll.

Gary
