Mostly Long established farms in our area with lots of outside money........just seeing the amount of new equip't sitting in yards,land demand and new pkp's,bins,sheds,houses,ect. things don't look too much like the '80's .........now if grain prices softened a buck on corn and $3 on beans and we had a $cad on par with $usd and 12% interest there would be issues......cheap $CAD gave canadian farmers a free pass this yr.
the lower dollar is about the only thing saving us but it also means our costs are a bit higher too. my beans do look much better then last year but looks can also be deceiving. my beans actually seem to be the best looking in my area which makes no sense because i've been doing to bare minimum this year |
