Brazilton KS | There's two sides to every story, we've heard only one...
It's completely possible that the renter has been on thin ice for years and has done nothing to improve his situation. It's completely possible that the owner has given him break after break and still he's not stepped up to the place. It's completely possible that he's been taken advantage of for years. We really don't know. It's really none of our business, for that matter.
The bottom line is that every time the lease comes to term, it's the owner's decision to make who he wants to deal with for the next time. He has no obligation to ask for anyone else's approval nor to justify his decision to you or anyone else. There's a big difference between simply changing tenants at the term of a lease verses trying to break a lease mid term, but for some reason it seems like some confuse the two. When we sign a lease for three or five years or whatever, we expect that lease to be honored for that term. At the end of that term, we expect to discuss doing another term if things have gone well for everyone. | |
