Applicators and equipment come in all forms. I can only know about the nearly 3 million acres I've sprayed with a plane. Most of those acres were sprayed with the right tool and right operator. Some of those acres should have been done with a helicopter and some should have been done with a ground rig. Many fields could have had a border done or two done with a ground rig to have been perfect.

I've spent many years doing and thinking of only one thing ....applying chemicals, spent 10s of thousands of dollars testing, videoing, changing/tweaking the pattern.

I don't think ignorant applies, except for some guys that get off calling themselves "ag pilots" when really they are barely pilots, or part time ground rig operators that simply listen to some university types that have no clue of spraying more than a few feet of test plot or maybe a field or two a day.
