SC KS | Thinking of putting alfalfa back in our farm. Partially so I don't have to keep trying to put a cash crop on my lighter soils every year & hope they dont blow. This year has been a very big alfalfa year here. 3 good dl/irr cuttings so far. Locally meaning there is an abundance of hay. Couple that with cheap grain price. will alfalfa be a more stable income or will it be as cheap and unprofitable with more labor as cash crops? | |
