Subject: RE: Cover crop after wheat?

North Central Illinois
Soybeans will get some N credit for the corn, since the entire plant will be left in the field. I am planning to toss my leftover soybean seed out with the oats/pea/brassica cover crop mix in 2-3 weeks. Great forage for the cattle too. Of course if I don't get the cows turned out there until long after frost, that won't be the case. I also figure that putting a few beans out now will boost rhizobium levels in the soil, since the field has been hay since 2006 and it will be planted to beans in 2018.
