farmertom311 - 7/19/2016 07:11 We raised jackolantern pumpkins a few years when I was a kid. Around fifeteen acres for a local coop . we planted them by hand . they would be several of us line up across the field . We would have canes mesured out five feet long . plant two seeds at the each end of the stick then flip and repeat . it's a long way across a fifteen acre field five foot at a time lol . we would lay the rows off with a tractor I believe they were seven feet apart . Coop finally bought a planter for us all to share . that was a good day. Dad let me plant them. I thought i was ten feet yall. First planting with a tractor id ever done . can't remember how old I was . Best story I heard all day! Thanks for sharing. |
