Osakis, MN | Push the combine at a steady speed for a while in the field. Now with your left hand turn off the key, right hand pull the hydro handle to neutral. Combine will shut down abruptly that's a good thing and exactly what you want. Quickly flip off separator and feeder house switches and restart the combine and let it idle. Now go start looking inside the combine. Go look at the straw walkers, on the ground, check the Chaffer, sieves, tailings. Are you threshing it out of the heads on the walkers? Are you blowing wheat over the chaffers? Is there excessive tailings and threshed wheat going up the tailings elevator? The first time I tried this power shutdown I thought I was going to severely regret it, in reality this is the absolute best way to see exactly what is going on inside the combine. If you haven't yet, try this. | |
