we always plant a blend of rye and trit behind our corn silage as a cover crop that is rotated the next year to beans, we let the stuff get 5 foot tall and head out and it has waaaaaaay less weed probs than the winter fallow fields. plant the beans right into it and it makes a real nice seedbed
