Southern Louisiana | From 29 years experience dealing with insect pests in soybeans in our sub-tropical climate. Usually we get 65 - 70 inches of rainfall a year in our neck of the woods.
We do every now and then hit a drought, and the spider mites then give us fits in the soybeans.
Tried the highest labeled rate of bifenthrin by ground and high GPA and barely got suppression when numbers were heavy. This was done on a lot fields over different seasons during droughty periods.
Heard this spring a true miticide is finally labeled for soybeans. Never tried it yet nor do I know the cost/acre. I am sure other growers on AgTalk have better experience with this miticide in various crops. I am interested in all your experiences/opinions. See link below and please give me your thoughts.
