Texas/New Mexico Stateline

Just an update on the skip row corn experiment. We have been extremely hot and dry ever since the middle of June.  We have only had a couple .25" showers since this corn was planted.  It has been 100F+ I don't know how many of the last 30 days. Probably half the days, and the rest 90F or above.  It was something like 108F last Friday.

Lots of folks asking why the skip, well here is why:

In the 60 inch skip about 6" down I can still make a ball of soil.

 

I don't know how much time we have left, but it would really help to cool down about 15 degrees.
