Just an update on the skip row corn experiment. We have been extremely hot and dry ever since the middle of June. We have only had a couple .25" showers since this corn was planted. It has been 100F+ I don't know how many of the last 30 days. Probably half the days, and the rest 90F or above. It was something like 108F last Friday. http://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=642655&posts=40#M5392955 Lots of folks asking why the skip, well here is why: In the 60 inch skip about 6" down I can still make a ball of soil. I don't know how much time we have left, but it would really help to cool down about 15 degrees.
