Subject: What would cause corn to emerge like this? (revisited)

A few weeks ago I posted a picture of corn emerging that was all twisted and such and asked the question what was the cause. I got many answers but I think the heavy rain/crusting theory was correct. It came out of it a few days later. I think as it was spiking through it got a hard rain and pounded the first leaf into the dirt and then baked it so as the corn plant was growing it was stuck in the dirt causing it to bend the plant. When it had enough power to break the leaf free it took off. Thinks look good now. Thanks for your answers.
