North Central Illinois | Continuous organic no till is not likely to work anywhere. Most of the worst perennials are slow to establish, so won't establish quickly enough to be a problem in one year without tillage. I have to do 4-6 weeks of fallow tillage in mid summer to clean up the perennials that established in pasture/hayfields over 5 years or so. A vigorous August planted cover crop, followed by full tillage corn cleans up the field pretty well. | |
