Subject: RE: 20 in beans versus 15 in beans

Eastern Shore of MD
We have a 12R 20" Kinze 2100. Its 3pt mounted, pulled with an 8830 Ford. We still do a fair amount of convention tillage (for now) and planting into a consistent seed bed was important to us. We can run 18.4 on the rears and just squeeze a row in between the tracks. We can then spray without too much issue of running rows over, as long as the beans dont run away from us. Everyone around us plants in 15" rows, beans anyway, and theirs do canopy faster, sometimes a lot faster in a dry year.

I am looking switch to a 15/30" planter in the future as we switch to no-till / min-till more.
