It might be priced OK. It's hard to tell. Bidding wells is tricky, I think. You don't know what you've got until you get down there sometimes.

I drilled a secondary well here two years ago. Primary well was 160 feet deep and not supplying enough. Driller looked at the geology and told the the bid was contingent on finding enough usable water at the level he thought he would. Long story short, instead of getting a good supply of water around 200 feet he needed to go to 500 feet and through all kinds of shale. Dug 200+ feet the first day, the rest took the rest of the week. All totaled I think the well was close to $14K with a 1 hp pump and 1 1/2 inch line. Water quality is very different between the two wells. We wound up keeping the old well for use on the house and put a switching valve so it could feed the outside line if necessary.
