A government agency severely overpaying and misallocating tax payer funds by improperly injecting them into the private sector is anything but the market at work. It's the very definition of market manipulation and is about as close to indefensible as you can get.
Short term greed often leads to a long term bleed and when the other 97% of the population catches on, the ag sector is going to be the one under the boot. We won't even be able to use cutting the programs as a bargaining chip in order to cut costs in other programs.
