Subject: Soybean bushel measurement

Northern Ky
Does any one exactly know how the elevators come up with a bushel measurement from ur net weight ,or how they do it? I thought I knew but I have been looking at weight tickets that my dad has been bringing in, as he has been hauling for us, and I can't figure out were the number relate to bushels. Brother thought they used a set lbs per bu but that doesn't make sense. Just seems like the bu are little low for the weight. 51900lbs 864bu. Does that sound right for soybeans. Test weight has been low, 50ish but still don't seem right. Hauling to CGB in jeffersonville In. Don't use them much anymore, cause docs seem always a little worse there in our opinion, but we have a good back haul and hate to have to dead head back from somewhere else, but if we're losing to much $ then might have to go the other way. Thank guys
