for the cereal rye growers........a question............ From earlier comments, it appears that if cereal rye is allowed to grow to say, 10 inches.......and then mowed down 4 inches, leaving a 6 inch stand........ and say that is done once or twice more............. If the rye is then allowed to grow to maturity............the rye will be much shorter than if the mower had never touched it. The question--- Given that the mature rye will thus be much shorter------------- would the yield be severely affected if then combined? I would assume that the yield would be less..........if so..........any guesses as to how much less? Do you think the time to maturity would be much longer or shorter than normal? Thanks. |
