A seed needs moisture, temperature and time to germinate. The amount of each is determined by the gentics in that seed. Some need tk be frozen the right amount of time. Others need enough light, while some need a scratch or weathering to break down the seed coat

Your "domesticated" seed has been bred that way. All the same genes make them grow the same way. Hybrid corn genes are almost all identical to the plan next to them. An oat variety could trace it lineage to just one plant the breeder decided to use. Keeping it's genes fairly similar.

While wild seed is survival of the most adaptable. No controled breeding. The wild mixing of genes does crazy things.
