southwest illinois		I'd much rather harvest the field in the picture, it would be easier than if whole field was flat with the bad number

In this area moisture difference of 2 varieties usually not that big of difference

Insurance issue not big of deal,

Fungicide issue no big deal, planes will spray half the field

to me splitting planter is more about mitigating the risk of what happened to OP and less about "on farm testing"
