s nd | I was elected police chief of new york city in nd boys state back in 74. We got to meet with an officer and got to ask questions. I asked about the can missing from a six pack. No, that's not open container, he said. So then I asked about an open bottle in the car. He says it has to be within reach of the driver for open c. Asked about behind the seat and said can be reached by driver. So I said, how about if I throw that puppy in the back window? he said ti would be out of reach. When I googled I got calif law that says no open alcohol in vehicle, so that may have changed. I think what's going to get you in trouble is the guys were under age and alcohol was present. Gotta remember zero tolerance these days. Judge might look favorable on you, but the cop may just remember what the truck looked like. Everybody is gonna have to behave after that, including the old guys. | |
