Subject: Putting up good crabgrass hay questions

SC KS
We harvested wheat like normal we have a flush of crabgrass developing. Side note... GREAT pigweed suppressor :). Anyways we got 7" of rain after harvest then the flood. Can't get ground worked or sprayed. Thinking of leaving grass grow, swath, small square bale it, let it regrow and graze. When baling crabgrass to see if its ready do you tear the stems like you do w/ alfalfa? If they tear it's ready to bale. If not rake it and let dry some more? Just curious. Looking at straw + crabgrass to market to horse customers wanting to limit intake of fat horses. Any ideas on price.
